"Sometimes I’d look at him and he’d look at me and we’d just know, you know? Our eyes spoke more than our mouths ever did. Some of his glances said “I want you right now” and others said “It’s okay, I’m here” but as time passed they turned into looks of “I miss you too” and “I’m sorry we couldn’t fix things.” And maybe it was better this way. We both knew what we were and what we weren’t, we just never found a way to put it into words. And it made my heart hurt a little less once he left."

"And it’s sad because you were my first ever emotional attachment and I’m constantly stopping myself from falling in love with someone new because; they’re not you, they never will be, and they just don’t fit in the empty place in my heart like you once did."

"

She says: I could have loved him better, but back then I didn’t even know how to love myself.

She says: I think he loved me back, but then again what is love to a boy who has nothing to lose?

She says: Some days it was a fairy tale and others, a horror story; we created thunder storms with the flick of a tongue, in the blink of an eye.

She says: It was messy and it was destructive and it broke my heart, and if you asked me if I’d go back, I’d most likely say no.

But, she says, with a pause and a smile, it was still beautiful while it lasted. And it is still the best love story I’ve ever written.
